O continente e o pico doce!
The mainland and the sweet summit!
Não foi há muito tempo, quer dizer já lá vão uns 8 meses, mas aquilo que os marcou na chegada à Ilha foi aquele sol maravilhoso no Nordeste e a chuva "molha parvos" em Ponta Delgada. Um Portugal no meio do Atlântico, desconhecido para alguns, misterioso para outros, a pasmaceira para muitos e sempre chuvoso para o Instituto da Meteorologia.
It hasn't been a long time ago, well in reality it has been already 8 months ago. In any case, the thing that they recall more when they arrived to the Island was that wonderful sun in the Northeast and the drizzle (that fine rain that only wets stupid people, as we say in portuguese). It is a Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic, unknown for some, mysterious for a few, a boring place for many and a always rainy place for the Meteorological Institute.

De passagem por Lisboa, já sentimos a diferença da mudança.
Como diz o outro:
"Muda de vida, se tu não vives satisfeito
Muda de vida, estás sempre a tempo de mudar!”
A conversa sobre o azul, sobre o verde, sobre as pescas de fim de tarde, sobre o lixo nas ribeiras, sobre o trabalho no turismo rural, sobre os bordados matiz, sobre o tempo que parece outro, MAS QUE NÃO É.
Passing by Lisbon, we already felt the difference of change.
As the other says:
"Change your life, if you do not live satisfied
Change your life, you're always on time for a change! "
Talking about the blue, the green, the fishery late in the afternoon, the garbage in the rivers, the work in rural tourism, the local embroidered, the time that seems to be another, BUT IT IS NOT.

Conversa
Perante a emergência da maior de todas as guerras, a luta pelo controlo mental do ser humano, sugere-se a resistência como derradeiro caminho entre nós e um mundo cada vez mais só de alguns. Mas, resistir não é mais um ato esforçado onde vontade e a razão se imponham como o mais forte argumento. Em tempos de incerteza, resistir nasce da entrega, nunca do esforço. As Conversas no Arquivo 237 são o exemplo acabado disso mesmo.
Facing the emergence of the greatest of all wars, the fight for mind control, I suggest resistance as the ultimate way to go for us, in this world that is becoming more and more lonely for some. However, resisting is not one more act of struggle where will and reason prevail as the strongest arguments. In times of uncertainty, resisting comes from the act of giving and never from struggling. The "Conversas" in Arquivo 237 are exactly an example of this.

Há 26 anos nesta terra, estudou arquitetura em Lisboa, e foi apanhar uns ares a Berlim. Sonhador e diletante, passa mais tempo a imaginar como a realidade poderia ser. Arquitetura, permacultura e ativismo LGBT têm sido as ferramentas para ajudar a criar o mundo que todos cremos ser possível.
For 26 years that Gustavo Briz has been around on this Earth. He studied architecture and then went to get some fresh air to Berlin. Being a dreamer and a dilettante, he spends more time imagining how reality could be. Architecture, permaculture and LGBT activism have been the tools that help him creating the world that we all believe could be possible.

Fui de facto demasiado ambicioso por pensar que seria possível falar de três temas tão grandes e mega interessantes em meia hora! Mas apesar de nos termos ficado só num, foi uma ótima conversa, porque apesar de cada vez mais se falar sobre estas questões (orientação sexual, identidade e expressão de género) há sempre muito espaço ainda para discutir, e muita coisa para desconstruir!
I was in fact too ambitious for thinking that it would be possible to talk about three such vast and interesting themes in half an hour! However and although we focused in just one of them, this was a great talk because despite we're discussing more and more these issues (sexual orientation, gender identity and expression) there is still lots of things to discuss and many to deconstruct.
