A Taberna da Rua das Flores

Bárbara nasceu no Porto em 1976. Estudou jornalismo, mas desde os 16 anos trabalhou em restauração. Aos 18 anos descobriu e mudou-se para a baixa do Porto e durante um tempo fez produção em teatro como freelancer. Colaborou com a Assédio, o Artimagem, o Teatro Latino, o TeCa e na Porto 2001, com o TNSJ. O “bicho dos restaurantes” já lá estava e em 2002 abriu o seu primeiro restaurante, O Cometa.Experiência vivida até 2007. A vida dá voltas e veio parar a Lisboa dois anos depois. Start over. De sítio em sítio, à procura. Surgiu oSol e Pesca no Cais do Sodré, projeto que abraçou. Deu muito de si e recebeu. Aqui conheceu André Magalhães, que viria a ser um dos seus sócios, no projeto que dá nome a esta conversa — “A Taberna Da Rua Das Flores”.

Barbara was born in Porto in 1976. She studied journalism, but she worked in restaurants and related business since she was 16 years old. When she was 18, she discovered Porto's downtown where she moved to, while she worked as freelancer in theatre production. She collaborated with Assédio, Artimagem, Teatro Latino, TeCa and in Porto 2001 with TNSJ. But the restaurant inner wish was already there and in 2002 she opened her first restaurant, O Cometa, something she lived until 2007. Life turns around, and she eventually came to Lisbon two years after. Start over. From place to place, searching. Sol e Pesca, a project she embraced, was born in Cais do Sodré. She gave a lot, and received a lot. Here she met André Magalhães, who would become one of her partners in the project which names this conversation — “A Taberna da Rua Das Flores”.

O tema foi A Taberna Da Rua Das Flores. A minha taberna não é só minha, somos três sócios. Somos tantos Taberneiros! Nesta altura 17. Alguns passaram e seguiram caminho mas continuam a aparecer, seja para dar um beijo e matar saudades, petiscar. Às vezes para dar uma ajuda porque nos falta alguém, às vezes porque lhes falta trabalho. Acontece assim porque desde que começamos, assim nos construímos. Taberneiros também entre os clientes. Taberneiros os fornecedores. Tem a ver com a energia que ali se deixa. Com o amor com que se faz. Tem a ver com dar (nos). Não é que seja tudo fácil, não é (nem isso existe) Tem a ver com estar presente nos momentos e dar lhes importância. Não achar que são bons ou maus. São o que são. Tem a ver com amor. The theme was the Tavern of Rua das Flores. My tavern is not only mine, we are three other partners. We are so many taverns keepers! At the moment we are 17. Some of have already left in order to find their way but they continue to show up, ones to say Hi, relive memories, and have a snack. Others come again to give us a help because we are in lack of staff or sometimes because they need to work. It is so because since we started, we have been growing like that. The tavern keepers are also among the customers and the suppliers. It has to do with the energy there is left there, with love in what you do. Basically, it has to do with giving (us). It isn’t all is easy, but has to do with being present and give them importance of the moment itself. Don’tt think they are good or bad. Are what they are. It's about love. We are The Tavern of Rua das Flores but could be in any other place.

GUR RUG

“RUGbyGUR”

Gur surge com o intuito de exportar o desenho para outros suportes. Trabalhando em parceria com uma artesã tecedeira de tapetes de trapo, convido artistas nacionais e internacionais a expressarem-se sobre este suporte com uma técnica muito específica usando a mesma autenticidade de materiais e técnica de um tapete comum de trapos mas agora mais divertido.

Gur was born with the aim of exporting drawing to other means. Working in partnership with an artisan weaver of rag rugs, I invite national and international artists to express themselves with these means. With a very specific technique and using the same materials' authenticity and technique of a common rag rug, but in a funnier way.
Conversa

Durante as Conversas Célia apresentou num ambiente descontraído em modo de "conversa" o projecto GUR - tapetes de trapos ilustrados. GUR surge como a extensão do desenho para este suporte. Trabalhando em parceria com uma artesã tecedeira de tapetes, convidando artistas nacionais e internacionais a expressarem-se sobre esse suporte, mantendo-se fiel á tecnica de um tapete comum de trapos. Durante a conversa houve oportunidade para várias perguntas e respostas, onde foi possível para a audiencia perceber como o projecto começou, conhecer a técnica e a relação entre a tecedeira e os artistas, em suma uma situação privilegiada para quem estava interessado em conhecer de perto o projecto. A experiência foi muito gratificante e divertida para o GUR, Obrigada Conversas.

During Conversas Celia presented, in a relaxed atmosphere in a “talk” mode the GUR project - carpet illustrated rags. GUR started like an extension from a drawing to this supports. She work in partnership with a carpet weaver craftswoman and invites national and international artists to express their works in this support, remaining loyal to the common rug technique. In the conversation there was opportunity for several questions and answers, where it was possible for the audience to understand how the project began, to get to know how is technique and how is relationship between the weaver and the artists, in short a privileged situation for those who were interested in get to know the project. The experience was very rewarding and fun for the GUR, Thank Conversations.

Júlio Dolbeth nasce em Angola em 1973, vive e trabalha no Porto. Artista e ilustrador, é docente na Faculdade de Belas Artes na Universidade do Porto. Cofundador e curador da galeria Dama Aflita, no Porto. Tem exposto regularmente em mostras coletivas e individuais. Galeria Dama Aflita Galeria de Ilustração e Desenho, sediada no Porto com exposições regulares desde Novembro de 2008

Júlio Dolbeth was born in Angola in 1973, and works and lives in Porto. Artist and illustrator, he is a teacher in Faculdade de Belas Artes in Porto University and he is the co-founder of the gallery Dama Aflita in Porto. He has been exhibiting regularly in collective and individual shows. Galeria Dama aflita Illustration and Drawing Gallery, with its headquarters in Porto with regular exhibitions since November 2008

“The Dama Aflita gallery, have been working on promoting the drawing and illustration in its multiple approaches through exhibitions as well as in collaboration with events. It was the curatorial projects that we presented in Conversas, during an informal speech that started with a presentation of the strategies and continued over the authors, exhibitions and events that we have been producing along our six years of existence.”
